This is my second wallpapaper tutorial, this time i will be making
this wallpaper. I made this tutorial after i made the wallpaper so it might not be 100% the same, but i tried to make it as accurate as possible.
The Begging & Caps
Open a 1024x768 canvas and fill it with a light grey ( #C4BCBC ). I the take my image,
here, abd cut it out with my eraser tool ( E ). If you need to know how to use the eraser tool better, another tutorial i made, which you can find
here. I then birghtend her up a little by useing levels. You have to play around with yur settings to get wat you want. This is what i have :
Textures/Patterns & Gradients
Now I take my first texture which i got from J.j's site
More Adventurous, i used
this texture. I set it to 30% and left it at Normal. I then took my second texure once again from J.j,
here it is. I put that to Soft Light with an opacity of 70%. Third texture, is from Wendy @
Blacklagoon, I took
this texture. I set it to Soft Light at 100%. I then took my last texture from Wendy,
this texture. I set it too Screen at 100%. Now for the gradients, first gradient i used is from
Kirstens first set, you can view it
here. I set it to Soft Light and set the opacity to 60%. For my second again, from Kristens first set,
here is a cap. I then also set this on to Soft Light at 90%. The third gradient is from
Wendys first set,
here is a cap of the one i took. I set it to Soft Light at 60%. For the pattern I can't remember where i got it from, sorry, but under my picture of Buffy, i made a rectangle and filled it with a dark turquois-ish color. Then i selected the rectangle and went to Edit>Fill make sure it's on Soft Light, then select the pattern you want and push ok. I then made 2 small rectangle on each side of the pattern. I set them both to Soft light at 100%. My piece now looks like this :
Filters & other effects
I went to Filter>Stylize>Find Edges, I then went to Edit>Fade ( ctrl+shit+F ) and put it to Darken at 12%. I then went to Filter>Blur>Smart Blur, I put the Radious at 3 and Threshold at 8. After I went to Filter>Artictic>Smudge Stick, and then went to Edit>Fade ( ctrl+shift+F ). My settings were Normal and the opacity at 20%. I then went to Layer>New Adjustments>Hue/Saturation, i put the saturation to -35. Now I flatten my image Layer>Flatten Image. I then duplicated my base and desaturated it ( ctrl+shift+U ), set it so 50%. I then flattend my image again and then duplicated it again. I then went to Edit>Transform>Horizantle, i set it to Soft Light at 30%. I flattend my image again, i know have this :
Text
In a blue terquois color i wrote "Buffy Summers", I then rotated it so it was vertical. I changed the opacity to 70%, then select it, made a new layer and went to Edit>Stroke. I took a dark green and put it to Inside with 1px. I set this layer to Soft Light. Then I made a new text layer this time a pink-ish color. I wrote "Not Like Anyother Girl", which i rotated like "Buffy Summers". I flattened my piece and then selected the whole canvas and went to Edit>Stroke, i took a really dark turquoise and put it to 2 px and to inside. The i flattened it again, then your done! My final piece looks like this :
